I so want to play. If you please Sirs/Madams, where might I find a comprehensive list of plants that will abide total root immersion, and moreover from where may they be inexpensively procured?

+1 - I know Peace Lillies and Pothos work well. I got a big pothos at Home Depot for like $10...and broke it into a bunch of smaller ones.

Pothos is really easy to find, and grows fast, so if you see it in any of your friends' houses, ask for some cuttings. I had a pothos for years that I kept with the roots in a jar of water, since I never got around to getting a pot for it! On some forum, there is a thread about putting pothos in your filters and just letting them go, but I don't know where and don't have time right now to search! Shhh, I'm working!
There is a list of common indoor plants in this article, along with pictures, but I don't know about a comprehensive list.

Was fixing up the basement during the beginning and missed it. It's subtitled "South Pacific" but beyond that, not sure. Shaping up to be a great season. They brought back Ozzie and the Donkey Slayer (Coach).
I know the bashing will commence, but I think we need a dedicated thread....

there is a lot of information about which plants do well. You don't have to buy from this site, I usually "rescue" clippings from friends, or buy any plant at Home Depot or Lowes that requires high watering. I had one plant a couple years ago, "purple waffle" that grew great. All plant roots eventually grow out of the planter cups down into the water, most plants I have had didn't require the planter cups, but the cups do make it easier to keep them in the tank.

I finally made myself take a pic. The 10 gal rack is not completed. Like I said, I moved the bottom row of 10's to put a 40 brder in their place.
I need to put a micron filter in this tank. Did a 100% wc...should have rinsed that substrate.
Trimmed and replanted a few speciemens in the 120. Took a few hours to do. Didn't get around to finishing the moss wall screens. I'll have to do it pretty quick before I loose the moss.

Today I am still working on replacing all my sponges. I finally bit the bullet and got 100 new poret block filters from Stephan. I also spent about two hours (EEK) cleaning dead shells out of the assassin tank.
Next up, FOUR more racks! I willh ave to start a thread of my own for that one!

Set up the 120 I painted the back on the other day, have to pick up some filter parts tomorrow. May change the scaping a bit Im not sure. Picked up some goods for the tank at Michaels. 50% off fake plants. Ac Moore didnt have as good of selection then Michaels.

I had them in with my breeding group of Pseudotropheus sp. acei - White tail in one of those 4'x18" tanks. With everyone else looking healthy, I can only assume aggression.
Oh well, lesson learned. (A costly one, unfortunately - easily a $100 fish if I tried to replace him with one that size/age)

Lost the submale right after ACA. He was a good click larger than the one that won at the fish show, but still smaller than the big boy that died yesterday. Didn't want to bring him to ACA because I didn't want to ruin the dynamics in the breeding group.
Check out the spangles on the alpha in the background. Now that's a nice fish.

Finally got to one tank yesterday. (I didn't do a single WC last weekend between CCA and the greyhound adoptathon!) Did a water change, good gavel vac, pulled some plants out of the 58 planted, ruthlessly tossed some that were looking sickly, and planted the nice swords I got at the auction. Moved the driftwood around and pulled out handfuls of Avatar-given guppy grass that was trying to take over the tank (dumped it in with the BN's 20 gallon for now.)
