As an aside, where is Survivor set this season? Didn't realize that it had begun again...

From this site, it sounds like you can just affix some cuttings or stems to the tank glass and the roots will take care of themselves. Maybe "affix" could be to just bunch some stems together, fasten on a suction cup, and attach them wherever you want.
"I generally use hydroculture pots filled with clay pebbles that I attach to a side glass of the aquarium. For epiphytes like golden pothos (Epipremnum pinnatum) you don’t even need a pot. You can just attach the stem to a side glass and let the roots float in water. The roots will soon find their way down to the bottom."
I so want to play. If you please Sirs/Madams, where might I find a comprehensive list of plants that will abide total root immersion, and moreover from where may they be inexpensively procured?
