What did you do to your tank(s) today?

My plan was to paint the trim on the front and back doors. Didn't have exterior paint in stock...So I worked

on the 120 a bit. Added a micron filter to the cloudy 40 brdr. Trimmed 40 long. Took pics with phone of 120. Fed the other fish a couple of times. Still haven't done the water changes....blah

Today I painted the back of the 75g, hung lights over it. Trying to find driftwood for it, but will prob use something I have in the garage. Trimmed a 20g long, planted the trimmings in the 20g long above it. Bought some potting soil (dirt, worm AND BAT castings, going to find some gloves, yuk) for an emergent tank I'm going to set up on the bottom shelf 20g long, also some name stakes. Oh, and bought 3 plants for riparium planters I've decided to add to one or both of the 75g's. Added some bacopia to the old 75g. Replanted the 5g, getting it cycled to add some shrimp. That's all for today, I'm tired.

Today I put together a 10 new gallon tank, glass top, and sponge filter. Instead of water I filled it with samples of CCA business cards, flyers, bookmarks, tshirt and membership form. Also tossed in a few pictures and directions for how to set up and maintain a cichlid tank. Then took the complete package to my Westgate neighborhood "Party in the Park", and donated it as a door prize. The winner was really excited. She said she never won anything before and had been thinking about getting a fishtank soon.

Now I'm sitting in front of my 75g just looking at the angels and reminiscing about what it was like to have only one tank...

she is actually doing all right and is currently bathing in pimafix, melafix and erythomyicin...

Here's the thread

Pothos is really easy to find, and grows fast, so if you see it in any of your friends' houses, ask for some cuttings. I had a pothos for years that I kept with the roots in a jar of water, since I never got around to getting a pot for it! On some forum, there is a thread about putting pothos in your filters and just letting them go, but I don't know where and don't have time right now to search! Shhh, I'm working!

There is a list of common indoor plants in this article, along with pictures, but I don't know about a comprehensive list.
Or at least one of the threads:

Personally, I'd rather control nitrates with water changes, but there's certainly no harm in using plants to improve water quality.

I took the filter cartridge out of my 20L eclipse system, cut off the blue floss pad, and dumped out the carbon. I then put seachem matrix in the cartridge and attatched filter foam from a fluval 405 with rubber bands. WORKS GREAT.

Do you have any pics of your riparium planters or setup? Are they store-bought or DIY?

Where is the water level at on that tank? Pics!!!!

I'm thinking the solution to the void on my desk may be a 5 gal or 10 gal riparium.....

Spent hours planting trimmings and plants between 3 tanks. At times, it seems to be a bit much....Stared at the tanks wondering how I got involved in all of this. Oh yeah, I'm a Gwapa member. Finished only one section of the mesh for the moss wall. Working with superglue gel is still tedious. Hmmm, thinking of using the sewing machine!

Heated a barrell of rainwater to prepare for tap mix for the angels water change. Fed some of the fish... only those who prefer pellets and flakes. Ha! The rest were staring at me wondering.

Stared at the other angels latest spawn. The apisto male is hanging around their slate to nab the fry. Yeah, gotta siphon this spawn out of there...I know, I know.

Changed the motor of the AC 300 on the 33; so much quieter and greater flow. Hurray!

Here's where I bought them:

I've tried DIY, they just don't work as well for me. Water level does not matter, you can fill a tank up to the top, or lower it 1/3, really doesn't matter. What does matter is lighting, plants must get light. I have not yet bought a rimless tank, and to tell you the truth, rips look better on a rimless tank. I'll post pics when my new 75g is done, expecting plants by this Friday....Go thru the website, Devin has lots of pics and outstanding examples.

Moved fish around tanks, bought a new betta cuz I'm an idiot and looked at them when I was out buying dog food, bought another plant to plant in a rip container, other 3 I bought days ago haven't been planted yet. Checked out the emersed set up (20g long) I setup yesterday, not happy with the brown water, looks nasty, but plants look good :) Decided not to add fish yet until I investigate the brown yukky water....

Working on my tanks today.... 50% water changes on as many tanks as I can get done. Stripping Petrochromis, Gobies, Tropheus...

And if I get a lot done... moving some fish around to larger tanks :)

I performed 4 water changes. Gave mu A.Melgar more room by putting them in 20g. Realized I really suck at maintaining healthy live plants. Set up a 20H in may daughters room to replace the 10G.

Water changes on 2 tanks, Set up some "hockey puck" under cabinet ligting over my work table so I can see what I'm doing, went for a short walk in the woods for some interesting oak branches.

Got to see some of my A. Baenchi decide to be bold and come out from under the leaves... havent seen them in full view for a while, and WOW! I think I have a couple of stunners!!! Yay!

Good day.

Water changes on some tanks. Fed all the fish and made sure all of them were there and well. Messed around with the planted tank; trimming and pulling out plants. It was the first time I threw away any. Too many species! Got all of the duck weed out of the 120. That's a never ending job if I don't stay on top of it. The planted 40 breeder is a little green

No problem.

Sat in front of the 120 and decided that taking out a lot of plants would probably be a good idea.

Did water changes and fed the fishes. Sat down and had a heiney...or two and decided, I should deal with it all tomorrow. :)
