Rescaped the 120 and it took me 5 hours...still haven't finished. Fed some of the fish. Now I have to refill the 120. Don't feel like it though.

I was busy with my tanks yesterday. I built a 2x4 stand for 2 10 gallon tanks that fits nicely into my extra bedroom turned fishroom. Moved some grow out c. afra cobue into one of the 10s. I siphoned off a pile of wigglers from my cryptoheros kanna Rio Robalo into the 5 previously inhabited by the afra.

Water changes on all 10 tanks...

Hmm,
I have done nothing for a week.
Tracey has fed a couple of times. I will get down there in the next few days.

Stripped a few female haps and mbuna last night. One was a fish I've only had holding once - Otopharynx heterodon - Tanzania. Had these guys for about two years growing out and only stripped fry one time (none survived though). I attribute the lack of spawning to them being pretty timid (and dad only having one eye).

Since the convention, I've really focused on stripping holding females. I literally have fry coming out of my ears. Took stock of fry in the room last night and think that this is more species than I've ever had fry of at one time.

Peacocks:
-Aulonocara stuartgranti Ngara
-Aulonocara baenschi
-Aulonocara maylandi
-Aulonocara flavescent albino (growing out for Mr. Peck)

Haps:
-Fossochromis rostratus (first spawn)
-Placidochromis sp Electra Blue (first spawn)
-Scianochromis fryeri albino (also from Jim)
-Nyassochromis broadzulu
-Otopharynx lithobates
-Otopharynx heterodon (first spawn)
-Copadichromis verdunyi (first spawn)

Mbuna:
-Labeotropheus caeruleus
-Pseudotropheus demasoni
-Pseudotropheus salousi
-Pseudotropheus sp. Acei Ngara whitetail
-Tropheops sp. elongatus Broadzulu

Other:
-Cyprichromis leptosoma Utinta (!)
-Albino ancistrus

So yeah, too many fry, too little space, lol. Need to reshuffle the growout 10s a bit tonight, I think. :)

Changed water on some of my 15 gallon tanks with the "help" of my 2 year old son. Also scooped some duckweed off the top of one tank.

I put some stone pleco caves in my 37 gallon tank. It will be interesting to see if the plecos take up residence.

Cleaned my E2217. Wow. The flow is top notch. Gotta clean the m360 next week. Fed the fish twice today. My weren't they lucky! Finally cleaned the fishroom closet and the rest of the room. Also started the soak on a lot of small manzanita pieces.

After painting the walls and ceiling of the fishroom two weeks ago, I installed the base trim last week. This weekend I finished soldering the sweat connections to the low temp mixing valve and picked up all the PVC and fittings for the central air system. Today, I delivered around 200 fish to the local wholesaler. Just finished doing my 50% water change on a bunch of growout tanks and a couple of the breeding tanks. Harvested my grindal worm cultures and made a mental note to plan on reculturing this weekend.

Nah, those guys look more like trewavasae/mloto with the white frosting down to the lateral line. Mine look more like this (but with longer ventrals and more orange on their flanks).

Jim came over last night for dinner. Brought some ruby red fry for me to raise up.

Stripped more females (benga peacock, maylandi peacock, Tropheops)..... got over 100 fry from the maylandi! The fry are tiny though and even with daily BBS, I'll be lucky to raise 5 of them to 1.5".

Moved the haps and mbuna I got from the September meeting out of the quarantine tank over to a 50. Moved some fry out of baskets into 10s to grow out. Changed water on the 10s.

Oh yeah, and marveled at my wild-type bettas....

In the words of Kevin, those guys are "straight gansta!" :p

Removed all of the old bulbs and put in the new on the 120. Got a refill on the C02 tank. I think I got my original beauty of a tank back. I wish there was a way to keep it and have it refilled...

Fed some of the fish and messed up the fishroom once again.

Did some water changes on Sat PM...and noticed that one of the Geo. altifrons females in holding...same with a Gymnogeophagus from Rio Cureim...

Moved my 6 Geo. daemon from a 75 into a 180...they're settling in nicely. And made the 75 into acara world: pairs of Krobia from Suriname, Acaronia nassa and Aequidens sp. inridae...as well as solo Crenicichla sveni and spare female Krobia sp. Xingu Red...

Moved "Rio Uruguay" Gymnogeo balzanii and some Gymnogeo sp. norte into their own (unheated) 3' tank...freeing up some room for a pair of Aequidens metae to have their own tank and hopefully get busy :)

It's a 20# and this should last until 12+ months. Wasted a couple of tanks and killed a regulator before I found the leaks. We're good now.
