Took advantage of the snow day. I called my buddy who has a snow blower and booked his appointment for Sunday when the snow stops. Because I don't have to worry about shoveling snow I was able to get some water changes done. I was able to do a 80% on my 120, a 75% WC on 5 of my 40Bs, and a 80%...
77 years ago, a museum curator learned that this fish, which had been thought to have been extinct for millions of years, still lived. NYT video piece here...

Just had to put down one of my ruby reds. I noticed some fighting in the 90 which usually gets resolved in a few minutes. I noticed the larger male who I've had for a few years now get into a lip lock with the younger male (one of his sons - a few days ago) who ripped his...
Not a happy day here...we lost our 18 in Red Tail Catfish today. We have had him about a year and a half, he wasn't in great shape when we got him. He was about 12 in then. Sure will miss him...he was very friendly. :angel2:
Years ago I was changing water in a fry tank with Beuscheri's and forgot to dechlorinate. I lost 40+ fry. Someone was helping me and we each thought the other had done it. It was the only time I ever did it and to this day I still regret it. This shows that stuff can happen to any one...
Anyone got aquarium plans for this wonderful snow day? Can't believe my office is closed, but maybe I'll finish (or at least make a dent) reorganizing my fishroom.
Long story short, I was working on my 125 at school. I got distracted by a phone call and overfilled the tank. I cut the water off as the water in the tank filled the trim ledge. I thought the worst was behind me. I was wrong. My FX5 began leaking while turned off. I panicked and disconnected...
Ive always strugfled to grow out plecos. My most successful pleco is my common who is sitting close to 10 inches. Tonight I found my 7 1/2 inch sailfin floating in the tank. I hate to see a beautiful fish go down

A nice little mini pond install was a good use of my day off... And a total of $40. Not sure if I am going to put any livestock in it as it is pretty small... What do you think, is it stockable?

So as we are showing our house am trying to sell it, we need to move my tanks and everything to my dad's house so we can move into the new house and get the water to my basement (fishroom) setup. My questions:
1) Can I feed newly free-swimming angelfish fry live BBS or microworms just once a...
Just got home a little while ago. Went to the airport for a pick up then met Russ to get a filter. After floating some bags I put my new fish into Tupperware to start acclimating them. While checking out my afra cobue I noticed one looked odd. I told the supplier to make sure to pick me a good...

It's been a busy day in the Clark household from a fish perspective. I started at about 9 AM this morning by removing all the decorations from my 180 so I could catch fish that I was selling. Darrel showed up around 10 to pick up most of the big fish I had in the 180 (amarillos, catemacos...

One of the largest private tropical freshwater tanks trying to re home fish due to cost. Sounds like the nightmare we all might have but on a larger scale
