Wow. how cool to have your name become an aquarists "household" word. I didn't realize that there was a Mr. Eheim, either.

The Eheim story is a fascinating one. Not many people know that he was a German bomber pilot during WWII flying a Junkers JU-88 bomber in Finland and then later HE-177 bombers bombing Allied troops in France and England. He even was a test pilot for the Arado jet bomber.

Besides the aquarium business, Eheim also continued his love of flying and opened an air charter service in Germany which currently has 11 aircraft (all private jets).

He didn't often drink beer, but when he did he drank Dos Equis.
