It'll look/work great, it's easy and you can defer the heavy lifting to when and if it becomes necessary.

Update:

As it turns out, I had a filter that was slowly leaking as well, as when I pulled up the carpet, there was way more than 10 gallons worth of wet floors. I removed all the carpet and padding and replaced with resilient plank flooring (http://www.homedepot.com/Flooring-V...ient +flooring||S|b|11271391095#/?c=1&5bx=5bx). I put it in myself and overall I am extremely pleased with the finished product. Any water that spills on the floor beads up immediately. Once I got the hang of the install, it went in pretty well.

Very very nice. Maybe you should spill stuff more often...

Seems to be pining for a throw rug and a rotating recliner (refrigeration unit optional).

I took the opportunity to spread the tanks out a bit as well.

The recliner would be the way to go, just a bit in the way when it came time for water changes. I use the blue rubbermaid you can see in the first pic as a sump, then pump the waste water out the window. With the tanks being more spread out, the hoses I currently have are just a bit too short.

I picked the resilient plank over wood for a couple of reasons, but the biggest were cost and being able to install it myself (and actually look good). Hopefully I made the right choice.

Looks great Jon! It look exactly like the flooring I installed in my kitchen two years or so ago. It has held up good so far.

Floor looks great, and probably got you back in your spouse's good graces, more or less. I'd replace the Orioles chair with a Nats chair, but I understand it's a matter of personal taste.

Sorry to hear that Jon, hope the fish are ok. That is why I only have two tanks, my wife per her foot down after the last leak on our 90 gal tank that had a filter leak over the winter. We stayed up all night soaking up water, blowing fans, etc- this was on hardwood. The first leak a year ago was upstairs on the carpet, again a filter leak. I ended up installing hardwood throughout the whole house. Good luck

Sorry that it happened but it does look great now. Man, these stories of leaky filters and tanks has me nervous about my upcoming move to a 2nd floor apartment with a 125! lol.

My leaking filter was 100% avoidable. A year or two ago I bought a used AC110. Turns out that the housing was cracked and had been siliconed back together (of course, not something that the seller disclosed when I purchased it). I knew better than to use it, but did anyway, as I had just dropped $50 on it. Needless to say, the silicone had failed and it was slowly leaking. Not enough to notice on a regular basis, but enough to keep the carpet under the tank soaked for a long time.

Yeah, there is some room for a few more tanks. I need to do something more efficient with the 10's on the one side of the room. I also have space for another 29 over 20L. I've decided that I don't want to have stuff so crammed together that I can't see what's happening, so I have a little thinking to do.

I'm also condsidering changing out the stand on the 55 between the windows to take advantage of the space under the tank. Maybe slide in a 33L.
