    Costa Rican amatitlania map

I am unfortunately not able to access cichlidae, most of the things I'm looking for on there require a subscription.

BAP Amatitlania cf. nigrofasciata "rio danli" (honduran red points)

Lost the fry for the most part I think, I still see a handful scattered around the tank but the male is not too happy with the female.

Kind of hard to see but there are fry in this picture. Spawn date: 2/6/22 Date free swimming: 2/19/22 Got the pair from a guy in this club but don't remember who. There were only around 50 fry to begin with, I'm left with 4 after 2 weeks, hopefully they make it another month and a half.

    Seeking Gorillus Black Umbee FEMALE

Ah I see, gotcha. Keep an eye on TUIC as well, as I'm sure you know he usually posts sexed adults, I believe he has sexed Rio mags up right now but shouldn't be too long til he puts san Rafaels back up.

    Fish availability

Aquatic clarity, blackwater aquatics, wetspot, tangled up in cichlids, cichlids of the americas, Dave's rare fish, and aquabid are all good places to look for online shopping. Currently noone has nanolutea, thought the first ones to get them in may be COTA or wetspot, as cota has a colony of...

    Are there rock dwelling SA/CA

I wouldn't consider them habitually rock dwelling, but most amatitlania/cryptoheros tend to stick around cover, and usually spawn under rocks/in crevices. In my experience most acaras are like this as well.

Not sure, probably like February or March

Theory/revelation: Rio estrella myrnae could be septemfasciata

Kevin at tuic confirmed, the Rio Estrellas are in fact septemfasciata. Gives me a bit of peace of mind knowing Becca hasn't been feeding actual myrnae to a miurus puffer 😂

Theory/revelation: Rio estrella myrnae could be septemfasciata

I have also just been informed that latitudinally, Limon, specifically Rio limoncito, is supposed to be the easternmost point where septemfasciata occurs, and with Rio Estrella being just Southeast of Limon (and subsequently within myrnae's recognized range), it would make sense for any...

    Idea: bagging competition?

Water to air ratio, how tight the bag is/how compressed the air is in comparison to how much there is, how well it's tied off, etc. Could just do a general bagging competition for all bagging styles, but if it were divided into single and double bagging divisions, things like bag squareness and...

Theory/revelation: Rio estrella myrnae could be septemfasciata

I have acquired a group of the Rio Estrella myrnae that have been going around the club for awhile. Love them, they're gorgeous, huge too, but first thing I noticed was the fact that the males were maroon with gold faces like septemfasciata. One of the females also had a sky blue belly, also...

    Idea: bagging competition?

Not sure if it's been proposed before, but I had an idea for the next in person meeting, perhaps a bagging competition? Just a fun show of how well you can bag fish. We could have it where either the club board can be the judges, or we can have everyone attending vote, and then we can have...
