    Auction items

Bummer, a pygmy goat for the fishroom would have been sweet. Even a good laying hen, nothing like fresh eggs in the morning...

    Who Knows their Ancistrus???

I have common male BN that size w/out any white tips on their tails, that's something they do normally outgrow IME. The "bristles" on that one are quite a bit shorter than any of the common males I've seen though. I have young males 2/3 that size with bushier noses. The mouth and teeth are...

    Is It a Zebra?

Way too much for an unsexed 1" juvie that you'll never see if there's decent cover in the tank. I love Hypancistrus pleco's, but they're nocturnal buggers and seldom visible by day.

    Syno Multipunctatus

My eureka reds are quite good Syno multi hosts, more than half the time the females release catfish rather than cichlid fry.

    Is It a Zebra?

Ya, L-46 pleco's have a very distinct pattern. Looks like a 1" juvie from the size of the fish relative to the gravel.

    1900 gallon tank idea help

Poret foam would be much better than bioballs for the sump/s. They're mainly useful for SW wet/dry filters, not so much for FW biomedia. I really prefer aquaclear filters because the sponges do both mechanical and bio filtration, and they're easy to access and clean with partial water changes...

    Sewellia Fry

I've only seen a few people posting about them spawning successfully, but they really aren't difficult to keep or spawn. Apparently not very prolific though, and the fry are slow-growing. (Not necessarily a bad thing IMO.) They're fairly new in the hobby, and river tank setups are usually...

    Sewellia Fry

They're beautifully patterned little fish, similar to pleco's but with tiny mouths. Somewhat territorial, I see them chasing each other around fairly often, they really could use a bigger tank for the group size. The fry isn't shy at all, but the adults scatter whenever they see movement near...

    Sewellia Fry

The other night I had shifted the Najas mass to one side to see how the java moss in the 20 high was growing and spotted an odd movement on the sand. Looking closer, I was pleasantly surprised to find a wee Sewellia among the cherry shrimp. I suspect there would be more, but the LDA-08's have...

    We've got kittens...!

Petricola have a denser pattern of smaller spots than lucipinnis. Size/number of spots may vary, but the overall appearance is distinctly different IME.

    We've got kittens...!

Petricola have a different pattern of spots, they're easy to tell apart when they're adults. Another year or so and they should be mature enough to tell.

    We've got kittens...!

Ya, I have some of Caleb's petricola (or are they lucipinnis?) growing out too. Saw them for the first time since I set up the 220 (last year) when I shook them loose from inside a resin "rock" ornament a couple days ago.

    We've got kittens...!

Happy to hear they finally got busy for you. The fry grow relatively fast when they're small, then slow down considerably about halfway to adult size. Once they start they seem to keep going as long as the cichlids do.
