Also not convinced its a laxitive but then again humans use it for many ailments not just constipation. Cant find the article I read but it defiantly increases the hardness in my water something to do with dissolved solids I believe.

OK, I"m moving this thread off the topic of fish constipation!!:lol:

I don't really keep any meds. I might have some Quick Cure hanging around. I do keep kosher salt.

My "have to have" on hand:

A large bottle of Safe Start
API test kits for ammonia and nitrite
Battery-powered airstones with extra batteries (one per tank)
A power pac with at least two outlets (one for every two tanks)
Several large plastic bins to convert into emergencies tanks if necessary
extra heaters

Here it is. Just as sodium carbonate raises carbonate hardness (kh) epsom raises general hardness (gh). Raising kh and gh is the best way to buffer ph.
