I've made my decision, I'll be getting 5 3-4 inch haplochromis obliqheden from quinns
finns. But before I order anything, I need to raise the ph. How do I do that?

Why wouldn't you get them from Dave (or another of the dozens of Vics that he has on his list)?

I've bred a few Vics in local tap. No need to raise the pH...

If you want to raise the ph anyway, get a small bag of crushed coral and put it in some sort of bag, then install it into your filter as an extra media bag of some sort.

I'm sure he can get you some obliquidens (they probably have them at HOT or Petsmart as well)... but if you can't wait, you can't wait.

But as Matt said, you will not have to raise the ph for your Vics. You can, but it is not necessary. Lace rock will also raise the ph in the tank.
