Trying An Idea

Not sure about using something like this, but I thought it would be easier to create and then discuss. What do you think about it?

Nevermind, I see what you've done.

Questions:
If we post that info here, it would be redundant to put it in the Biotope, no?

Besides, it's the BAP Chair's job and the BAPEE to keep track.

Will the subforum eliminate the BAP Chair's responsibilities?

I think we need the BAP Chair.

I thought of this subforum as a way to post pics when I want the first check done, then track how many points received. I dont think we have to do this, it was just an idea. I still think it would be nice to have something in the Biotope, maybe every quarter or six months, a yearly write-up? I think the results are on the main site and should stay there as not all visitors will come into our forum, visitors also cant see inside the MEMBERS ONLY area where this forum exists.

Another thought was I could post when I am bringing fish in for the final check. I plan on donating the first bag every time I want my BAP points, I can do this in the main Breeders forum as well.

Anyway, I just put this up to open discussion, I can easily delete it.

I don't care either way. Infact it might make my job easier :) Instead of saving all the pictures on my hard drive. Infact, now that I think about it, I like it :)

I know some people won't use it, but it would help the committee for the ones that do.
It would also help us keep track. I would still have to have a back-up in case the site gets hacked or we switch servers etc.

LOL, I couldn't remember which fry pictures I emailed to you as a "first check" Sarah -- and deleted the email--

Plus, wasn't clever enough to keep a copy of the BAP forms we submitted this month -- Double DOH! Which means now we're eyeballing some fry tanks & wondering which ones we've submitted & which ones we haven't!

I'm GOOD at keeping us busy. :angel2:

I'll annouce Ron and your points at the next meeting... but you submitted forms for these:

M. johanni
P. polit
M. zebra OB
C. honduras red point

I saved your e-mail :) I'll send it back to you :)

I like the idea. Saves some time for chair and committee. And provides a place for the members to watch the BAP activity closer to real time.

However, I am totally confused with all these requirements and awards. The whole thing seems too complicated to me. But that's just me. :confused0007:

I like emailing pictures, as some people do not want to post "sub-par" photos for all to see. Does not matter to me either way, but emailing should at least be an option.

IMO, emailing photos instead of putting them on the forum would be fine. The BAP committee could just post the information without pictures as the first check.

Actually, now that I think of it -- I believe Ron set it up so that the only people with access to posting on that subforum would be BAP Chair - so that all photos & info would have to be emailed to that person, then THEY would post the info and photos as a first-check on that spawning. If you were to include a note asking that your photos NOT be posted on the forum, I don't see any problem with that.

I know I get a little embarrassed when the fry tanks are dirty - but-
We all know our fry tanks get grungy quickly and if the tanks were spotless the fry wouldn't be eating! LOL!

People have could have the choice to post or email? Posting them does let people know that we are breeding things and of course
I like lots of posts. lol

Up to the committee. But....
If it is posted on here then there is always a reference to look back on, where the emails are deleated.

I think I have it set up so only BOT, chairpersons and admin can start a new topic in the sub-forum. Basically this was done so the same convention can be used for each person so that sorting alphabetically will be consistent.

After the first topic post is made, other members can REPLY. THis way each person will be able to use their personal topic area.

Make Sense?

Yes, makes sense.

It's just another way of doing this. The e-mail will still be an option though.

No I haven't talked to Steve yet.

oh, ok. I misunderstood how you were setting it up Ron.

I'll add a post in a bit onto the Nielson family topic with the fry info that was recently emailed to Sarah,
just so we all have an idea what that will be like also.

I have added a few people names along with some first checks for myself in the sub forum.

I really like this idea. Makes it very easy for the committe.

Not positive on my points along with Mikes. As I was going off memory and old posts. I will correct them once I get the forums.
