Give them my fish. I will clear my driveway for them to drop them off. LOL

Why are they in your yard?

While not on the level of Rachel's current problems, spent 2 hours in beltway traffic to come home to two very nervous puppies and about 1/2" of water in the dog room and fish room. Opened the back door and had more water rushing into the house. Apparently, the sump pump at the bottom of the walk-in stairs was either clogged or the float was sticking.

Reached down into the sump and rattled the pump a bit and got it to kick on. The wooden mat at the bottom of the stairs was floating.

We have a new fish pond at the bottom of the hill. Stocking ideas?

Filled up the 15 gallon shop vacuum 4 times and thought I was in the clear... that somehow, miraculously, the water had stopped short of the rest of the carpeted basement and given us a break.

Wrong.

The water managed to travel around the entire perimeter of the house. The only stretch of wall that the carpet was not pulled up at was a the 180 and stacked 125/150 tanks.

4 hours later, 3 dehumidifiers and 3 fans running. All of our cans from the pantry being used to prop up padding and carpet.

Good times.

So sorry to see that, Tony!

Let me know if there's anything I can do to help...including bringing some beer later for moral support...

Sorry to hear about your disaster Tony.
Are you going to replace the carpet and padding?
What about the wood wall paneling ? The wood will dry eventually but there's always a change the wallboard behind it start to create mold and mildew. Not to mention the insulation.
Been there, done that. If you are concern with either of the above, post here and I'll help with some sugestions that work for me.

some pictures, all within a few miles of my home. These are all the bridges out of town and the hydroelectric plant, which the dam is underwater. Ihttp://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.2178168427082.120333.1633026721&type=1

My whole area is totally thrashed. We are very fortunate that we just took several inches of water on from ground seepage. Many are losing their homes and property.

Man, Tony and Rachel, sorry to hear all your troubles. I had my basement flooded twice one year when we had that 100 year rain a few years ago and a tropical storm that passed through us the same year. Luckly, no flooded basement so far. I was concerned. I just heard a 12 year old boy near by slipped in his backyard yesterday, fell in the creek, and drowned. We have one small creek right next to my house and it is still raging today. Hope everyone is doing well.
