<span style="font-family:Comic Sans MS">The CCA, A Growing Force in the Cichlid Hobby.

Well they are both true. We went over the 100 mark with yesterdays meeting. And we are still growing.

I have mentioned elsewhere that some of our meetings have become more of an event. This is true also.

We had at least 60 people there yesterday.
We had Marge greeting and getting people name tags and signing in.
We had Tracey working the membership.
We had Sarah selling the raffle tickets and books.
We had Francine getting the AV stuff going.
We had John and Mike getting the auction stuff logged, tracked and then money worked out.
You had me running around looking like - well lets not go there. LOL

We held our elections yesterday and Kevin Epps is now on the board. Thank you Kevin.

I hope in the next month to get several new things started to take spread some more of the work around and
continue growing.
Of course now I need to come up with a new slogan to replace the 2008 one. :spanka:

Watch for the announcements soon.

Add my congratulations to the many that you obviously deserve. No wonder no one is willing to run against you. I was very impressed with my first meeting.

I met a couple of great new members at the meeting. Let's figure out how to get them on this forum! Maybe as part of membership they choose a username and login :)

Matt, the day after the meeting I always send an email to the new people. I welcome them, explain a few things and
then invite them to the forum.

Two of the new people were already users. I have upgraded them.
Two more have responded to the email and are now registered.

congrats PAt!! This is an awesome club you have here.[/b]

Thank you sir but this is OUR club. I may be the face of the club (that could be bad) but the club belongs to everybody.

Hey all,

I was one of the new guys at the meeting. Between coming in late (ran late refinishing my hardwood floors) and not feeling so hot, I didn't really get around to meet many folks. Anyway, wanted to say that it was one of the best run meetings I had been to around here. I have been to a few WAMAS and CMAS meetings in the last couple of years and will say whole-heartedly that you guys definitely have your stuff together. :)

The speaker was great, the food was great and the auction was great! Actually took home a couple of auctions myself (a group of small Pseudo. demasoni, a group of Neo. leleupi and a girlfriend for my venustus!)

Anyway, really had a great time and look forward to meeting more of you guys next time around.

Thanks Pat and crew for running a really awesome club.

GREAT idea. I think I know where you are going.

I am not sure. Francine would have to tell us but she says they are always concerned about security for their system.
Don't know if we could but that would be an excellant idea.
Never thought about that. I had someone else asking at the meeting about the forum and I don't know if I explained it properly or not.

Wow.
You know, I need to get a laptop. I could have that going at the convention if I did. Showing the visitors.

100, can 200 be far off? Great job President-for-life Kelly. Thank you and your better half for being there. This was a pretty good club without you, but it's a great club with you. Some of our local Aquarium Societies have either stabilized or begun to atrophy; CCA is still in its ascendancy. Let's see how high we can get, er, wait, I mean go.

See y'all at the Catfish Fest.

Hey Matt, there is wireless in that room, but we won't be able to access it.

How about taking screenshots of the forums parts and we can put in a power point with a handout?

Or maybe a video ...hint (Richard)

Great idea - I'll volunteer to do a one page (front and back) instruction sheet that we can hand out to new members (and existing ones that need help)...
