So What Did You Get.

What type of Catfish did you guys buy at the Catfish convention.

I wanted some L333 and L260's to add to mine but only looked around one time. I was too tired to go to the auction.

No catfish. Siena (my little one) says they're UGLY!!!

I did get a pair of goodieds (Chaplicthys pardalis), some Gymnogeo babies, and a pair of Krobia (the male died in the bag before I got home...but I'm getting another pair from the guy)...

Corydoras pygmaeus from Julie. (I've wanted to get those for a long time.) They're lost in the 15 gallon I put them in.

No cats...only interesting ones were too expensive or would have gotten too large. Picked up a pair of Nannacara anamola from Matt on Friday of the convention and they are in breeding colors and hiding in one of the caves I put in the tank. Picked up a pair of Pseudocrenilabrus Nicholsi(small african mouthbrooder) but the male killed the female before I got home so now am on the lookout for females.....had these once before and had to set up a breeding harem to get the females to successfully hold as the males are pretty brutal. Also picked up 10 pleco caves, a large amount of food and bags from Ken's Fish and a few other odds and ends.

Lophiobagrus cyclurus ( another lake tang cat that is a mouth brooder )

and L 270 or 307 .... same thing

Holding some other pleco's for my friend.

Pat.... Julie had some, well Barbie had them in their room. 260's .... they might have had 333 as well as Dale brought a bunch of babies into the room as well. If you want F1 let me know .... and I'll try and get you intouch with the right people.

Great to hear about the Nannacara! The females can get FIERCE when they're guarding the fry...including to the male...

Julie had some terrific fish. I just got some Corydoras loretoensis. Really cool little things with a long dorsal spike. I thought prices were down from two years ago. It must be the economy but I was surprised there were so may nice fish left Sunday morning. I too skipped the auction but I heard it went well.

I also picked up some Corydoras sterbai from Frank. I think these might be the prettiest of the Corys with their bright orange and interesting pattern. They are also one of the easier to breed.

In all honesty... one of the reasons there were so many left is there were 4 people selling in her room ! HA ! Plus ... alot of the fish that were in the tanks were being auctioned off as a donation to planet catfish by Barbie :)

Some were going home with Julie .... and some were going home with me :)

George those loretoensis are really nice ! If I still kept cories I would have snagged those as well.

Sarah- Good to know, I will just get involved on the next visit from Julie....not worth a shipment by itself. The male is in a 65 with some other like sized fish so he can chill out.....its his own fault anyway.

Matt- The female has enough dither fish to chase around so she hasnt really been beating up the male. They are in with some juvenile red tailed goodeid.

No catfish... But I got some really awesome water sprite!! I even paid for the bump up to make sure that I got it...

It's now in the Madagascar tank at the school in Fulton and the killifishes are LOVING it.

Of course, I had stocked up the store before the convention and still have some goodies left over. My favorites there are the Orange Panda Catfish, Glyptothorax rugimentum.

I picked up a "possible pair" of the red lizard cats, a pair of altolamprologus calvus 'Zaire black, and a few female pelvicachromis. Good stuff!
