Shellac?

I found a can of shellac in an alcohol base in the basement. It's free and the can says non-toxic (shellac is an insect by-product).

Anyone think this will hold up under water??

It's for sealing crafts, furniture, etc.

Hey didn't answer your other post bc I didn't know if you were asking me about the specific product/formula or the other person.

Shellac is considered safe by the FDA it used to coat apples and a few veggies...the only issue is not knowing the concentration of solution so curing time might vary largely.
As for holding up underwater depends on the material your shellacking. But can be if the material is prepped properly where in the tank water flow etc will wear it down.
