My problem is I can’t seem to keep rock-dwelling Tanganyikans with Synodontis catfish. I have a 75 gallon tank with fifteen Cyprichromis, a compressiceps, and five S. lucipinnis catfish. These fish get along well. But I have had to rehome a Julidochromis transcriptus, a J. marksmithii, and a caudopunctatus (all single fish) because they all harassed the catfish. Have others seen this problem? I could try a leleupi or something in the N. brichardi family, but my understanding is they are even more aggressive than the rock dwellers I had to get rid of. Has anyone had success with such a combination? Do you think I’ve just been unlucky? I could keep trying, but I’d like to know something about the probability of success!
