I have newly released Aulonocara Jacobfreibergi fry...say that 3 times fast!

Release date: 2/3/2006
Number: > 15

Mother and fry are in a 20gal long tank sharing with a holding yellow lab. Yes, there is a divider between them.

The lab is expected to release within 48 hours so I wall make another post at that time. If someone would like to verify, please let me know so I can be sure that I am home. I will not likely be around tomorrow (2/4/06).

Ron is very close to you. E-mail him to see if he can do it. If he says he can't, I guess I'll come out. Let me know.

Hmmmm <_<

I seem to have a situation...

I stripped the holding lab last night and discovered that my divider (keeping the Aulonocara and Lab fry separate) had a gap. All the fry were moving freely back and forth from one side to the other and were intermixed.

My wife decided to spend a fair amount of time fixing this problem and afterwards we decided to fish out all the fry and separate them once again. Total counts...Aulon. - 29, Lab. - 11. Unfortunately the fry still found a way into the other side so all my fry, lab and Aulon., are mixed up in a 20 long. I did get pictures of fry for counting purposes though.

There is much more to the story, but I thought I might save it for a Biotope article...what do you think?

Yes to writing an article. We are always looking for articles.

At least the fry are two that you can tell the appart.

I have several types of peacocks that I have to be very careful with.

I have ruby reds and ngara. Hard to tell the females apart. Dont want to mix them up.
I also breed Eureka albino and Ngara albino's . Have to keep them seperated.
