Ph?

My Ph keeps dropping around 7.4 in my African cichlid tank. I have cichlid crushed coral for subtrate and a few texas rocks in mt 125. I'll buffer and get it over 8 but it always comes back down. What do you guys do and or recommend. Also what buffer do you use. I have heared of people raising theses guys just fine with Ph under 7

I use baking soda to buffer my kh and epsom to buffer gh. If you can raise you waters capacity to buffer it will resist change then the crushed coral should keep your ph around 8

I don't buffer my African tank. The pH is around mid 7. Fish are fine.

Same here, no buffering for my Africans.
My tap water is at about 7.5. Better to keep a stable pH than to have it fluctuate in the attempt to raise it.

I also only use aragonite substrate with no additional buffers.
