Pea gravel

Hello all quick question. Has anyone every used or know of any issues with pea gravel as a cap on substrate?

I've used it mixed with sand as a substrate. What type of substrate are you capping with it? If it's heavier than what's underneath it, it might sink to the bottom eventually. My only issue was that it was kind of ugly. Depending on what type you get you'll want to rinse it really well, I've had some that were very muddy.

Worm casing and fluorite. Never thought about the weight thing thanks.

I've capped old, degrading aqua soil with fluorite before. Is there a reason you want to cover that up?

I’m sorry Becca for the delay. Yes the worm casing layer is so close to the top I am constantly changing filter media. Pea gravel cheaper that more fluorite.
