That's right. Not a "photo contest" but a contest using a photo to find the best "capture" of an interesting composition of fish.

Here is my idea....

Photo Capture Of The Month" (PCOTM) contest.

This setup will allow everyone a fair and equal chance to win, no matter what skill level or equipment is used to make the capture.

Rules can be simple:

1. All photos must be of aquatic composition.

2. All photos entered must be no wider than 800 pixels wide and with no identifying signature or watermark applied.

3. All photos must be emailed to the PCOTM contest chairman by the 25th day of the month to be eligible for the next month's contest. Any entries received after the 25th will be entered in the following scheduled contest.

4a. Voting will run, by poll, from the 1st thru the 15th day of each month. During the voting period, no comments about the entries will be permitted. The winner will be announced on the 16th of each month. And the photo will be placed in the PCOTM folder on the forum for congratulatory comments.

4b. Voting criteria should be based on the following order of emphasis:

---A) Most interesting composition should weigh 70% of your vote.
---B) Photo quality should weigh 30% of your vote.

5. Prize will be a CCA T-Shirt.

Let's hear if you are interested

I think that happens unless you answer every question. That's why there is the "none of the above" choices. Obviously, the poll writer isn't the brigtest star in the sky.

Too late to realize that

1. I like what you have suggested for rules ... and will participate. (My first choice) :sign0191:

2. In part 2... if you use different rules I will participate then too. (My second choice) :sign0134:

Guess the voter has to think it all through before they register their vote. :sign0129:

I am already anticipating the pictures!
Fun.

Bobby,
If you get enough people to make it worth trying, ....
I will get you the T-shirts for the prizes.

Perhaps set it up so that a prize is offered only when so many people enter?

And can you enter multiple pix for each month? I'd say probably not.....

Later!
Amanda.

I'll let the poll run for a week after Saturday's meeting (perhaps Pat can mention it at the meeting to let people that normally don't hang out here know). At that time I'll decide to set it up and run it for May/June.

If we got at least five entries per month, it would be worth it. Perhaps it can draw more people to the forum. We'll see.

Bobby: This sounds really good. Adds a bit of 'sparkle' to the club.

Later,
Marge
