Oca Extravaganza

The web site is now up for the 2008 OCA Extravaganza. November 21-23

Don't miss out on this one. It is a smaller version of the ACA but is very reasonably priced and a lot of fun.

Tracey and I have been 3 years now and always have a blast.

The drive for me is about 6 1/2 hours or so. Not real bad. The hotel is only $65.00 per night. Holiday inn. Sold out last year so book early......

The speakers are Friday PM and Saturday. Registration is cheap.......

The all Cichlid and catfish auction is on Sunday. Tons of fish in that auction.

People selling fish out of their rooms. Lots.

Note: the registration is by mail. The form has 2007 on it but it is still good according to the chairperson. Prices are the same as last year.

So if you are looking for a fun weekend.....See you there.

One of these years I will make it, but not this year.

Once again I will be in North Dakota, freezing my butt off and wishing I was in Ohio!

If:

1) I survive that long

2) I can convince "fish hater" (semi-reformed) Tiffany to come down from Cornell and take care of my fish - again

3) I can figure out a way to pay for it (should pay for itself)

4) I/We will go; I hear it is a blast - and it is NOT Sweatlanta!!

The OCA is my favorite yearly convention, nothing else comes close. Not sure I can make it tho, starting to run out of vacation days!

A little over 3 weeks away.
I heard rumors at the Catfish convention that the hotel and the one next door are booked and they were looking to break last years record of 280 people.

Don't think I am selling fish this year so this one will cost me.
Last two years I sold enough to pay for the weekend. Selling out of the room can be fun there. Just don't have enough fish this year. Have not concentrated on breeding this year. Lost interest.

Need to figure out what to do Friday during the day.
One year we went to the Rock N Roll hall of Fame.
Last year rode around looking for fish stores.

Need to find something interesting to do this year. Not really into
museums. Anybody from that area?

I have some friends in the Cleveland area that will be at the OCA and probably would enjoy people coming over. I will ask them and let you all know. Niagara falls is only 4-5 hours away from Cleveland, I believe. If I go I won't be able to bring any fish for show :(... If I go it will probably only be for 2 days so well see. I do wanna go up there and buy some stuff as I heard the OCA is the best show of the year!

It was a good event. CCA was certainly under represented. Must be the economy and everyone is out of work. You missed a good one and we messed you.

Coolest thing I got was Blueberry shrimp. These guys are just like cherry red shrimp but bright blue. You should have been there. These are really cool.
