Hi All,
My name is Mark and I am new here. I live in Towson, MD and have been involved in fish keeping for about 22 years. I currently am doing Malawi Mbunas. Just a small 30 gallon tank. I sold most of my gear about 6 months ago after a frustrating tank melt down of a large reef tank heavily stocked with SPS, Softies, Fish, and such.
I never was able to put down the hobby for very long. Worse than smoking. Something always catches my eye and sends me to That Fih Place looking for supplies.
Last month, I decided to simplify my life and go back into freshwater after years of salt. I decided to go cichlid because of their tough nature and ability to be crammed into a small space. I bought a 30 and stocked with some run of the mill Mbunas. Kenyi, Johnanni, Red Zebra, Yel Lab and a Rusty etc.
I have had Tropheus and want to do a second tank with them. They are on my Favorite Fish of All Time list. So if anyone knows someone with a bunch of Ikolas I could buy, I am looking for 10-14. I hope to make the next meeting on Saturday (March) and I will post some pics of my modest aquarium in the meantime. I am proud of it. Sometimes, the most common fish are the most interesting. I just love my male Kenyi-Handsome Fella.
