Looking suggestion on filters to replace my Aquaclears

You'll need a special tool to pull the shaft out -- a normal set of pliers won't work.

Needlenose pliers work fine, both for removing and replacing; the shaft just sits down inside a rubber bushing in the motor housing. Incidentally, all the smaller aquaclears use the same motor and shaft, but the 110/500 is larger. Seems like the shaft wears out much more often than the impeller, but check that the inside of the impeller isn't out-of-round or more than a hair bigger than the shaft.

I realized that few years ago. the Ac20-Ac70 all have the same motor. The ac20 and Ac70 have a different impeller heads.
