I picked up three boxes of ceramic tiles. I condensed it to two boxes and pulled out about 9 marble tiles 12" square and several strips of resin molding. Are any of these safe to use in aquariums? I have a friend who can cut the marble tiles if its kosher to use them. So what do you think, can I use them?

Thanks,

Eons ago, I was told or read that marble is not a good choice for aquariums because it is soft and will dissolve over time.

marble is actually pretty hard (as a stone carver I feel safe in saying this from my perspective), that being said- it will buffer your water- so better for African tanks.

The regular ceramic tiles are inert- i use them as feeding platforms in my tank

Not sure if this is a great source, but seemingly good info:
