Some of you guys know me already from ECC, Cichlid-forum, MFK, or from yesterday's CCA meeting but for those of you that don't...
My name is Ed Martin. I'm from Long Branch, NJ and I live within hearing distance of the ocean (about a mile away). While I have only been in the hobby since 2007 I have accomplished a lot so far and am currently suffering from Cichlid Obsession Syndrome...
My main interest in cichlids are the Malawi Haplochromines...and not the common ones (though I do keep some), but the uncommon ones ("oddballs").
I have kept and bred wild Altolamprologus calvus Nkanda Yellow before but besides that I haven't bred any other tangs.
Currently I am expanding to non-cichlid fish such as Puffers, Datnioides tiger fish, catfish, etc.
A lot of people were asking me today what species I kept particularly of Malawi Haplochromines and I actually couldn't remember all of what I keep I have so many... To give you all an idea what I keep and how nuts I am here's a list... I THINK this is my complete list of what I currently have... There's probably as much as 25 more species I have kept before and bred that aren't on the list.
Taeniochromis holotania
Stigmatochromis modestus Red
Otopharynx lithobates 'O.B.' (<---NOT a big fan of man made fish, but this new variety of O.B.s are NICE...would be kept separate from the normal ones I have naturally)
Tanks I have (still not a complete list, all of them aren't filled yet but they will all be up and running by the end of this month):
I registered as a member today to the forum and club. I doubt I can make it to all meetings since it is a 4 hour drive for me but I am going to try and make it to the BBQ this summer that you guys have...
I heard a small handful of you are coming up to the ecc auction May 2nd... I'll see you then!

I was shocked yesterday at the CCA meeting when I found out how many haplochromine keepers there are down here... Most Malawi Cichlid keepers in NJ are Mbuna breeders with a few token haplochromine breeders here and there including myself... The rest of the folks in NJ seem to be new world or Tanganyikan Cichlids keepers...265g
