I've been growing a group of these out for a few months now (they're about 2 to 2.5") and I've just noticed a holding female. Vics typically spawn very young, so it's likely they have been spawning for a little while now, but this is the first I noticed. I've pulled the female out into a breeder box and will post pics as soon as I strip her. Last week when I peeked, she still had a mouthful of just eggs.

Here's a link that talks about the wonderful colors that these fish have. Indeed, I must agree.....they might just be some of the prettiest Vic's I've kept.

I had a breeding group of these for a while, nice fish but be careful that they don't beat each other up. They are on the CARES list too.

I hear ya about the aggression. My group is male-heavy, so I think I'll be thinning it a bit.

I did not see them on the CARES list....were they removed, or just not listed yet?
