Correct. Since you already have one established filter up and running you should be fine with cleaning the new one.
Roger that! thanks to all for the advice and help.

This is just me but I would gravel vac the 90 to empty it to remove as much solid waste as possible from the gravel before transferring it. Its debatable but Imo it would help reduce the possibility of any spikes and make it a lot less messy. Also if your adding extra new substrate put the new stuff down first then the old as a top layer.

I think you should give me the big tanks and focus your energy on the 10 gallon on the sawhorse. Jazz that baby up with a bubbling mermaid and you are all set.
How's the peacock doing? Healing?
lol. hard to argue with that.If you were to look up "counter productive" you would see a picture of a man saving aquarium water

Good progress Frank. The one regret that I have about when I set up my 180 is that I didn't take the time to get things spruced up before I set up the tank. I was way too excited to have a big tank and get it filled with water and fish. Now, I'm just too lazy and I don't have anywhere to put the fish in the tank to be able to break it down and start over. Maybe one day when I have a week off from work and nothing to do around the house.
Frank,
You'll be ready by the weekend.....
Do you think I can keep the 2 fronts in the 10g tank for a few days?
