firemouth bullying

I recently got a firemouth and oscar for my 55 gallon tank they are juveniles and I'm just trying to get them growing for now. I first got the firemouth and let it settle in to the tank for 2 days and then I got my oscar. I mainly did this so the oscar wouldn't bully the poor firemouth. I was wrong -.- the firemouth has complete dominance over my oscar! and its gotten to the point that he's just stuck in the corner all the time. What can I do to help them get along or help the oscar be a little more dominant?

Sometimes removing the fish to a bucket, rearranging the décor, and reintroducing the fish can help.

Buy some more decorations, and a range two clear territory boundaries with some rocks, or get rid of one. Get some caves, and maybe slate, or find the sex of your firemouth and get him a mate and get rid of the Oscar.

I have found males in the Thorichthys family to be nasty bullys. Relentless stalkers that I have not been able to tame.

I have a Mixteco gold in a 10 gallon now who wont play nice with anyone.
