Festae Breeding

So I decided to introduce my 8" F0 female Festae into the 75g with my 7" male. Neither fish seems the slightest bit interested in the other. No shimmering or puffing up nothing at all. Hope this is a good sign and they will harmoniously get down to business eventually. Any thoughts...

Good luck D hopefully they do what comes naturally. May want to try separating them with egg crate, so they can still see each other, but may help trigger some action.

Good luck with them. +1 on having a divider handy in case one decides to get rough with the other. Keep us posted on progress.

I agree that a divider is a must. Watch them closely. I've read that in general, a larger female cichlid won't choose a smaller male as a mate. That may be different in the home aquarium.

I would not attempt this in a four foot tank personally. A divider is definitely a must let them eye each other up through the divider when the female let's her tube drop pull the divider and watch them closely. Good luck either way keep us posted on progress!
