Hey all, just recently joined the forum. Excited as this forum is more dedicated to cichlids (which I love and can't get away from) then other species of fish.

Been in the hobby for 5ish years now, so that just makes me a 5 year newbie. I started with African cichlids (mbuna), found a beautiful 'small' tank on craigslist, went to Petsmart and got all sorts of wrong advice and then did some research on why I failed and thus the hobby began for me.

So I ended up with like three 55 gallon tanks plus some 20g grow outs and some 5g fry tanks in a small 1 bedroom place and decided to just consolidate when I moved. Sadly big tanks in my area are just insanely expensive used (I am a victim of supply and demand!) so ended up with a 160 gallon (72x20x25) tank when I moved into a much bigger place.

Of course this means I can add more tanks and over the winter I will be adding SOMETHING to the living room - either a 4' or 5' tank and torn between a SW reef setup or a Tropheus species tank.

Anyways, starting a SA setup in my 160g which will have Geophagus Red Headed Tapajos, 2 schools of tetra (Lemon and Congo) and I'm debating about adding a Severum or two (because I have always wanted them).
