I feed microworms and the smaller sizes of golden pearls.
That's also what I use for baby cichlids. Seems to work.

Juvenile C123 feeding on microworms
As Hollyfish just witnessed, I've got about 75 C123 in a 30 gallon tank. Interestingly, most of them seem to enjoy swimming midwater.
