Bring in Parrots Feather from outdoor pond

I transferring some parrots feather from a outdoor pond to my indoor tanks. Whats the best way to do this without transferring critters and others.
Please advise. Thank you

For the most part, anything you'll bring in is likely to be safe. But, you should do a visual inspection first, and make sure there's not anything overly nasty on it. You can also quarantine it, which is the best.

However... parrot's feather usually doesn't do well in aquariums. It needs a lot of light, and -- of course -- tends to like to grow out of the top.
