Background mounting

I painted the back of my tank recently using Krylon flat black spray paint... beautiful and even with no brush strokes. I have no clue, though, what it is going to be like to get off when I decide I don't want it anymore ;P

Oh yeah....I agree, paint is NOT permanent on glass. I scrape it off used tanks all the time.

WHAT?!!! You scraped off all the beautiful blue paint on those 15s you got from me?

The peeling gave it a very natural effect imo (not easily replicated by means other than sitting outside for months).

I'll try to remember to take some after I do the WC this weekend. I also have to finish building the scape for the 55... OY... I'm looking for old roofing slate to just lean up against the back of that as background. I like the look of it in my 29, so if anyone has any....

I made a foam and paint background..very detailed..and put it directly behind my glass..looks like tank is deeper..taking up no space..but when looking at it..it looks like its in there..my 55 like that..very cool looking..

And right behind the tank theres a light that shines down on to the background..

Hey I would try a dryer sheet dip in water quickly and rub it against itself until it foams then rub on the glass then lay the background then use an ID or credit card to use as a squeegee.
(same as dish soap/detergent method)

I put a plastic stone wall in the back of my 240..better than any paper ive ever used..6'x6' panel 139$..diff. colors..

Uh, yeah....the "patina" didn't go with my decor in the fishroom!

the pic with 4 tanks..its the top 55gln..foam and paint..and placed behind the tank..doesnt take space..can be any paint..
