Alita air pump

I think I will be getting one of the smaller Alita(AL-6A or AL-15A) air pumps.

What size is the output from these pumps? Can you link manifolds or do they only have one large input and terminate at the other end?

Jesse,

I have one of the larger Alita air pumps in my fish room (can't remember which model) and love it. It comes with a plastic/metal manifold that hooks right onto the output and has about 10-12 nipples for airline. I don't use that though and have mine plugged directly into my PVC manifold supplying the room. Got the connectors/nipple from Hope Depot.

I used 1" diameter PVC (I think). Definitely want it to be in a loop if you can. Otherwise, you'll lose pressure towards the ends.

You dont really need to run it in a loop unless your close to capacity or are running it a long distance. I have a line going about 20ft with no plenty of pressure, and thats running the lower psi jemhco pump

I have an AL-15

Currently running 15 tanks with pressure to spare, all from a 12-port stainless manifold with one line running 6 tanks at the end of a 20-foot run of standard air tubing. Go large - the price difference between the 15 and the 6 is negligible but the luxury/utility of significantly extra air flow is not...
