Received my Holiday Order -
This should just about round out my current stock list.

P. Phenochilus Tanzania
A. Rubescens
A. Benga
P. Steveni Taiwan
P. Taeniolatus Super Red (suspected female)
S. Fryeri
S. Fryeri White Knight
O. Lithobates Z-Rock (suspected female)
A. Stuartgranti Flavescent
P. Milomo VC-10
Synondontis angelicus x eruptus hybrid

Cichlids Are Special

Otopharynx Tetrastigma
P. Spilonotus Insignis
A. Lwanda
A. Stuartgranti Ngara
O. Lithobates Black and Orange

Keystone Cichlids

Nimbochromis Fuscotaeniatus
Buccochromis Nototaenia

Both packages were received warm with no losses and fish had minimal stress - most eating shortly after arrival.

I’ll be needing to keep an eye on the black/orange o lithobates - seems to be having a little harder time acclimating (hiding in the vals appearing stressed)

That’s greats news. Best of luck!

And post a few pictures soon.

Some photos of the gang

I pulled the Z Rock, Red Empress and the S.Fryeri, as they were females and unfortunately the Black Dorsal Lithobates is MIA. Likely succumbed to stress, and was visually having a hard time recovering from shipping.

Looking to replace them soon with appropriately sized subadults.

The Ngara Flametail is the low man on the totem pole - catching heat from the Lwanda and the Flavescent but still feeding and doing well. Hopefully things settle down in the next few weeks. He is constantly seeking refuge within the Vallisneria.

A little on the fence about the Fusco gender - was a WYSIWYG online purchase and I should have saved the image. It appeared to be male in the photo, and since it was ordered it was immediately removed - but it has yet to display the same coloration as pictured.

Obviously there are multiple variables, but being fairly unfamiliar with this species I could use some assistance. Anal fin shape and lack of egg spots has me questioning.

In the meantime I’m patiently waiting for my vallisneria to acclimate. Maybe once it settles I’ll introduce some root tabs.

Nice tank ! Going to look nice with some big dudes cruising back and forth.

appreciate it. Hopefully stocking with all juvies will keep aggression down as the develop! Everyone is familiar with each other😅. They are all in the 2-4” range at the moment.

All you need is open space and brakes in the line of sight so they can get away from each other. With a tank that big, the aggression will be minimal. Don't be afraid to crowd it.

All the fish are still relatively young, but I took your advice. Just last night placed an order for four additional fish which should arrive late next week. Hopefully it’ll spread the aggression out amongst with the Lwanda and Flavescent and give the Ngara a chance to breathe. He’s a pretty fish. I just don’t get to see him much outside of feeding time.

They really don’t like other peacocks, and leave all the haps alone for the time being.

You are 100% correct.
I just placed extra poret foam in my sump actually to help seed a quarantine tank. Looking to set up a 20L. I could definitely be doing a better job of this - and it was prompted by this Black Dorsal Lithobates😒

If you can swing a 40 breeder as a quarantine, I’d recommend that over a 20L

Finally mounted the track lighting.
the fixtures slide and are adjustable, able to be angled. I want to see how the Vallisneria adjusts with the new light height. Once I can tell it’s really begun to acclimate I’ll add some root tabs - and then prob regret adding it to the tank a few months later.

the first pic is the true color.
the following is standard without the iPhone camera light adjusting.
