shellac

I found a can of shellac in an alcohol base in the basement. It's free and the can says non-toxic (shellac is an insect by-product). Anyone think this will hold up under water?? It's for sealing crafts, furniture, etc. Sent from my iPhone using MonsterAquariaNetwork app
