    Rock for rift lake tanks

I was originally going to use lace rock to raise the pH because I like my white PFS. but the guy at Fishy Business said it doesn't raise pH, and I have read conflicting info on it online. I have a few pieces so I'm going to put them in a bucket of water for a week then test the pH.

    sump size

Could you fit a 40b under it? I was also thinking that one of the new 38s would make a good sump. Dont think they are 1$ per gallon though.

Need help with GSA and brush algae

I know others have posted about hydrogen peroxide here before, but thought I'd share this. I watched a video a couple of weeks ago where this guy had an awesome planted tank. He had a small spray bottle filled with hydrogen peroxide and he would spray the surface of the water to get rid of...

Repairing 75 gallon - need advice

After looking at the pic again, that might be an oceanic. Can you post a better pic of the trim,or does it have the oceanic sticker on the bottom trim. Also look at the front/ back edge of the panes of glass. Look at the cut edge and see if one of them is clear as opposed to a green tinted...

Repairing 75 gallon - need advice

Quick note to everyone - while doing some research online and disassembling my 57, I discovered that WD40 works great at helping remove old silicone. It doesn't liquefy it, but it softens it and penetrates underneath it. Just spray it on and let it soak for about 15 min. A word of cation though...

Repairing 75 gallon - need advice

WOW, good thing you tested it. Lost of tank re-sealing threads right now. I would break the entire tank down and rebuild it.

    Resealing tanks

In the middle of a rebuild myself, and I agree with Aqua410 on the seems. If they aren't leaking, I would either leave them alone or carefully reseal the inside only. If they are leaking, it might not be worth the trouble with those tanks, unless you are looking for something to keep you busy...

600 gallon - how much would you pay?

That tank was originally in a dentists office. When the office closed or was getting remodeled, it was offered to my friend for free since they couldn't sell it in time. Superpetz got it for free I believe.

    Tank Re-Build

Two more question. Is there a difference between Krylon fusion and Rustoleum "also bonds to plastics"? Would Rustoleum Appliance Epoxy paint be safe to use on PVC that is going in the tank?

    Tank Re-Build

So I salvaged this Oceanic RR 57g tank. I already got it completely apart and that glass cleaned, and I am planning on rebuilding it as a rimless using the bottom trim only as it is 9mil/3/8 glass. 3 things I would like some input on - There are some chips on the front and back pane...

What gets your fish to spawn?

For new worlds, I hang an 8 inch hand mirror on the side of the tank opposing there home. The male sees the reflection as a threat and attacks his reflection. The females might even join in (quite entertaining). 1 or 2 days later, eggs and very aggressive parents. Also have hung garbage...

    Jack Dempsey Fry!

The pair that Dankdabe has now was mine at one time. They spawned like crazy for me. So much that I ended up giving more than 300 away. Thats actually why I sold them. I couldnt keep up with the spawning. Not once did I see them eat any of them. Even after they grew to be juvies. The would just...
