    Ray tank size

One of the more interesting pairings of a ray and an I there fish is Jeff Rapps has a male ray in with a male umbee. Both get along fine. But reticulated rays are common in Columbia. I want to try it myself but I am afraid of loosing a 500$ ray to an aggressive umbee. Drew

    Thermostatic mixing valves

Tons of experience. Get a nice particulate filter sub 5 micron or a softener. Your water will eventually calcifi the inside and it won't work well. Also install a heat trap. And a return pump for optimal performance. Don't forget check valves on both feed lines to the mixing valve. Drew

When the fry swim over toward dad he is going to eliminate them. Be prepared to pull fry and raise separately. Just been my experience haven't raised trimacs to spawning age but I know a few people who have and they have shared their own first hand experience with me. Drew

Any one else have something like this happen?

My fish pound everything that hits the water. Although they won't hesitate to strike they are typically smart enough to recognize that what they have isn't food. At that point they let go. Drew
