What kind of fish are being passed around back east right now?

They were about 4-5" when they started breeding. Males a bit larger. I originally had 2 pairs and an extra in a 29 but once a pair developed I split the pairs up into their own 29 and removed the extra female. They would spawn on any flat surface but it took about 6-7 attempts until I got fry. They were not good parents and would eat the eggs or not defend them from snails. I had the best success moving the surface they spawned on to a separate 10 gallon and then hatching the eggs there.

I had very similar experience - started breeding at 4" or so... And really bad parents. I never got around to artificially hatching as they often breed on the side of the tank

I still have a pair but they quit breeding in a crowded tank
