Here's another October spawn I forgot to post. These are pretty straight forward mbuna spawners. I've got a pretty even M to F ratio in my group. The subdominant males are still coloring up so I may end up with a few more males in the end. These started spawning at about 2.5 to 3".

Never kept these guys. Are they really aggressive or typical mbuna?

Matt, I find that they're pretty typical but I found a thread on another forum that said the females were really aggressive with each other. I haven't seen that in my fishroom but they're still on the small side and living in a very busy tank.

So I've heard. They seem to be mostly just brutal to each other. The Mainganos are my peacekeepers. They're big and fast and chase a lot but don't do damage. As soon as any of the others start causing trouble the Mainganos are there butting in to see what's going on. The omnicaeruleus are pretty rough on each other too. I haven't been able to keep more than one male at a time in the 75.

You may have different luck. Maybe my dominant male is just more of an ass hat than most.

Mine are in with a pair of Rio Animas convicts and a pair of marble convicts. They're not the top of the totem pole. Are they fry eaters?

Congrats Christine! You have Red Shoulder Tropheops as well as the Red Cheek? Are they as colorful as the red cheeks?

There is a red shoulder tropheops though! I was excited there'd be a new fish in the club. Lol
