UNCLERUCKUS
"THE ALL POWERFUL Q !!
Well at the beginnining of winter i had made up a to do list of things needed to be done to my tanks, equipment, and fish. My list had 4 things. 1) fix my wet dry pump on 180 2) redo my lights 3) reaquascape my 225 4)stain the stand on my 180.
Ok so i have had a LITTLE GENIE model # 3-md-sc that i scored at the auction a while back that stopped working. ive pulled it apart numerous times trying to fix the problem without much success. come to find out i had tightened the screws to tight.
( thanks DANGER_CHICKEN cuz that never woulda crossed my mind) Now my wet dry is up and running on my 180 gallon finally.
Moving over to the 225 gallon i had decided to redo my substrate and aquascape the whole tank. i removed all the old substrate added the new substrate with about 25% water in the tank. i let this settle for an hour with pumps running and refilled. i then began aquascaping my driftwood and flat stone. after doing all these changes i must admit i like the new look. my fish seem to enjoy the new aquascape as well. so that is a plus.
Finally i did some fish swapping. i moved everything under 6" went in the 180. im gonna use this as the "grow out" tank for now. so far there is peace in both tanks without so much as a flare up. i think everyone likes the new accomodations. :innocent0006::winking0011:
That stand that needs staining will be next followed by the lights. im even thinking about a canopy for the 180. we will see
