NBA PLAYOFFS ITS FANNNNNNNNTASTIC!!

No way that the Magic match up well against the Cavs. Other than Howard and Turkoglu the talent level falls way off at that point. Even Turk is pretty inconsistent so you never know what you are going to get. 25 points, 6-8 from behind the ark....then 0-6 from behind the arc and six points total. I hope that the games are at least close.....be nice to see Clevelands double digit wins end but I do not think that this will be a real challenge for the Cavs unfortunately. The Magic really miss Jameer Nelson right now because Rashard Lewis just doesnt fill his shoes. My pick is Cleveland in five, possibly four.

Lakers vs Nuggets is much more intriguing. That will be a Who shows up? Series. The X Factor is Billups, who seems to have taken half the teams in the league to a championship. He has been lights out so far. Dropping in 22 a game. Thats five more a game than his regular season numbers. KMart shows up and they win, he naps and they lose so obviously his 10 points a game are critical. Must be an energy thing that gets the rest of the team going. The Lakers have to hope that Bynum brings it like he did yesterday. He finally drew enough attention to allow Gasol to get some one on ones which led to a 21pt/18reb night for Pau. Bynum also threw down as many points as Kobe yesterday, at 14, which is nine more than he is averaging so far in the playoffs. The biggest difference I saw yesterday had to be the defense by the Lakers. As a team they had 10 blocked shots. Out rebounded the Rockets 55 to 33 on the boards. If they can continue that kind of pressure than I think the Lakers take this in six games.

Screw King James, the Only King there ever was and will be is Jordan!

I am smoking the good stuff DQ LMAO. I gotta get in and out quick. My boss is with me today. I am running the risk of getting fired lol Sorry for misspell but I am on a Misson Impossible: Try to post while boss is breathing down your back.

Lebron is a wee wittle pup compared to some of the greats.....has the potential but thats all it is until he actually accomplishes everything.

Not even Michael is King in my opinion....he just did more to bring a crowd to the NBA, and more to the individual athlete(Nike, Gatorade, etc). Michael also was one of the best clutch shooters ever.

If I had to vote for basketball royalty it would have to be this man at the top. He averaged a double double for his career....with 22.5 AVERAGE rebounds per game. 11 championship rings in 13 years playing, five MVPs and then coached/played at the end of his tenure.....man was just amazing and I unfortunately was born too late to have seen anything but clips of bad camera footage.

Russell.jpg

3. Bill Russell (Celtics: 1956- 1969) – He has 11 rings in 13 years (1957, '59, '60, '61, '62, '63, '64, '65, '66, '68, '69) and made players better as witnessed by his team full of hall of fame teammates during his reign (8 to be exact)! He was a player-coach on their last two championship teams (68-69) and was the first African-American to coach a NBA champion and the greatest Boston Celtic ever by all who speak. Five time regular season MVP (58, 61-63, 65). Had career averages of 15.1 points, 22.5 rebounds and 4.3 assists

Greatest Skill or Move: The Blocked Shot. Made it an art form before it was counted as a stat! Usually kept the ball in play and that led to the Celtics patented fastbreak!

I for one was only speaking of current players, and I don't even agree that James is the best player in the league today. As for all-time greats, I too would put Russell at #1-but it's tough to compare players from different eras. Players nowadays are so much more athletic than in Russell's day. I couldn't say that he would be as great playing in today's NBA. But then again, sometimes athleticism doesn't mean as much (i.e., Larry Bird).

Whatever happened to the Baltimore Bullets?

Unseld vs Reed
Frazier vs Monroe
Marin vs Bradley
DeBusschere vs Johnson

That's when basketball was a team game.

I agree, although if Russell had been given the opportunity to train, develop and fine tune his game like this generation I imagine he would have still been extremely dominant. If I had to compare, I would say that Dwight Howard is the most like what I imagine Russell would have been like these days but with better all around skills. The other hard part to take into account is how much Russell had to share the spotlight with teammates. That is one reason I put so much stock though in the championships....year in year out they got it done.

How weird is it that Terrell Owens will be doing a reality TV show to select one guy that gets a shot at Cowboys training camp....now that he is no longer with the team! Could lead to some interesting commentary from TO, especially if he has to deal with members of the Cowboys heirarchy.

lol indeed

Everyone wants to see the LeBron Kobe matchup....
Cavs in 7 ... there will be a couple of 50 point games by either player .....
But the Lakers better watch out Denver is not a pushover....

Its actually Michael Irvin, but still an old cowboy. Of course he had to get through all of his drug charges first (and possibly assault/weapons charges).

Not a cowboy fan if you couldn't tell.

I for one can not stand Pro Basketball. I would much rather watch a good college game, doesn't even have to be Division I.

And there is another thing that me and Mr. Cool agree on. March madness beats the sh-- out of May snooze any day.;)

Think Kobe took offense to what Jerry West said? 40 pts, 15 of the Lakers last 23 points....win by two. Love ya Jerry, but I cant hear you.... That was one of the best playoff games I have seen in quite a while.

hahahaha may snooz, although funny, I will disagree up to a certain point. Pro basketball games tend to get better as each round goes by especially the conference championships. Did you see last nights game Denver vs LAL? That was a battle all night long.....Denver should've won........ March madnees is good but sometimes you get bad final fours and final games like we did this year. North Carolina Just looked like they were a league above everyone else and made me look good in my picks :) I think tonight will be a good game too. I pick Orlando in 6 ONLY BECAUSE OF MY DISLIKE OF QUEEN JAMES! not because I believe it will happen. BTW.......HOW IS IT THAT LA CLIPPERS GET NUMBER ONE AGAIN AND THEY NEVER SEEM TO BUILD A GOOD TEAM (3 times now)?? IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN THE WIZ WITH THE NUMBER ONE PICK WE NEED THABEET OR BLAKE NOT THE CLIPPERS!!!
