You should keep an eye out for Biotodoma cupido - they are a larger dwarf cichlid that appreciates the high temperatures that Discus thrive in. Rummy nose tetras can also make for a very nice display in a Discus tank due to their tight schooling. You won't find Cardinal tetras captive bred, for the most part, because the fry are photo-sensitive, so it's difficult to rear them even when you get a spawn. We've had good luck with black neons in our Discus tank. Unlike cardinals, they're large enough that Discus can't eat them
