Would you do this with Apistogramma's or Ram's?

Put multiple fish (6-8) in the same tank. Not sure yet which species. Tank is a 96 gallon custom, heavily planted, some driftwood, a light current population of small fish, I would add more rocks & wood to increase hiding places and territories. It's a show tank and breeding is not my goal.

If breeding isn't your goal and you want a group of fish, you could consider keeping only males. Having pairs and keeping them happy would likely result in breeding.

Thanks Andrew and I have thought of that however it seems that most sellers seem to want to sell pairs or mixes. BTW, nice Geo

I'm not sure where you live, but if it is around here, Londontowne Tropicals in Edgewater, MD sells apistos and rams individually. Local club members may do the same.
