Wild Type Convict Pics

They only come from one water source and are not often imported. I got my group from a guy I met through the ACA who personally collected them last summer.

I bought them sight unseen. Try to google pictures of them. I wasn't able to find any. Juan Miguel doesn't even have pics on CRC.

More Coatepeques Pics

Here are some more pics of one of the coatepeque pairs defending their fry. I pulled the last batch out to their own tank to grow out so I should have some to share in a couple months.

The first pic is the pair, and if you look hard you can see the fry in the crook of the drift wood. Second pic is the male.

Wow I did not know Convict Cichlids could be so varied. What is the average convict? Just a mixture of all the different subspecies?

More than likely. Farm raised cons are of unknown heritage, and who knows what they are. They were only recently divided into separate species.
