The price for these fish has really skyrocketed. There were some going for a reasonable price at the 2012 ACA in Indy. Now they are $150 apiece I just saw for WC.

I actually have the fry from the BAP submission that won the 2011 ACA Spawn of the year. I managed to raise 2 pair out of that group of 5. Unfortunately I lost the best male out of those two pair and my other pair lays eggs but I have been unsuccessful in getting any fry.

The tank raised are definitely not as aggressive as the WC which I have heard are brutal.

Have to say, I think L, C & CW numbers are thoroughly tedious, inane and far too enduring. I get that the taxonomy is complicated and in some ways still being sorted out, but scientific and/or distinctive common names at least provide some information and are far easier to remember. Not as if catfish are as plentiful and distant as stars...
