What did you get at PVAS???

We have a mini-auction at every meeting. There are usually between 75 and 100 lots. Not nearly as big as the all-day auctions.

You must be a member to sell in the mini auctions. Non members can buy.

Even PVAS used to have more of them per year.
Too many of them in an area cuts back on the amount of fish, and people.
Our mini auctions at the meetings are fun.
And a lot less work.

To be clear, PVAS also has mini-auctions when it isn't doing an all-day auction.

For me, the all-day auctions are too long, with too many inconsequential items, and require far too much volunteer effort. (I realize that others may feel differently and respect that.)

The CCA mini-auctions are plenty for me.

I bought a System One diatom filter for $18, brand new in the box.

I also got a box of huge composite tree trunks and similar decorations.

Unfortunately, one of the tree trunks had a dead Bristlenose Pleco in it and it stunk up my car overnight it was still wet when I pulled it out with a long needle nose pliers today.

I got a really nice group of 5 + 4 = 9 clown loaches (medium size). They look very healthy and the orange color is intense.

I was out of town for my anniversary this past weekend.....I didn't once comment to my husband that I was missing the PVAS auction (though it was reeeeally hard not to).

PVAS ran a great auction and there was a good turnout too. I came back with the following:

4 long-fin white cloud mountain minnows
6 Aspidoras cf. albater
4 large 6-line barbs
2 BN plecos
15 golden apple snails
a few plants, and some nice driftwood
a lot of caves and synthetic driftwood
power strips and timers
an air pump, corner filter, and blackworm keeper

A nice selection of stuff to choose from, and different stuff than usually shows up at our auctions.

Forget what I wrote earlier. It was a terrible auction. Really nothing interesting for sale.

Haha! You know you had a good time Matt!

But great way to make Christine feel better. So yeah, Christine, it was awful. Nothing you'd be interested in. You were better off enjoying your anniversary with you hubby. Congratulations by the way!
