Water problem?

Hey guys and gals,

I noticed couple of my tanks the cichlids are keep shaking their body and rubbing them to the gravel. Its not the sign of breeding and some of them have damage of the body too...... is something wrong with my water?? PLEASE HELP!!!!! thank you very much!

Look for signs of ich; white spots or white patchy areas.

most likely a parasite.....Gyrodactylus (fluke).

I had something simular and tried several things to rid the fish of it including copper. Nothing worked until I used DeLos for gill flukes and external parasites.

Did you introduce any new fish or plants to the tank? If so, could be parasites, and if not could be something in the water. May be your water conditioner could be an issue?

Just an opinion before you try medicating...

HUGE water change...maybe 90%.
Add sea salt, kosher salt or epsom salt in the the aquarium...2 tbls per 10 gallons.
Add a dechlor that takes care of metals as well...something like Prime.

IMO there is no reason to medicate as of yet.

There seem like sign of parasites so im using some medication for them. Any recommendation of medication will greatly appreciated. Thanks again everyone

The DeLos that I mentioned above works great and doesn't seem to be toxic even with fry. 1/4 teaspoon per 10 gallons once a week for 4 weeks. My whole fish room was infected last Spring and this did the trick.

Thanks for the tips, i bought some medication from Petmart and hope it will work.
