Water changes

I've noticed at the bottom of my tank, there is waste building up around my rocks on top of the sand. Does anyone recommend to take the rocks out every so often to clean the sand bed? How often if so? There is two mounds of rocks so I could do one side and then 2-3 weeks later do the other side..

Nice tank! I just leave the rocks and siphon around them to suck up the waste.

+1 to Shawn's comments. With a little practice, you can get most of the debris with very little sand.

Thanks, I'm used to gravel so it is new to me!

Put the hose end of the python in the tank, start the syphon, pinch the hose to regulate flow (on the outside of the tank), then stick the hose behind the rocks. Takes a little practice, but it works well for me.
