The immortal jellyfish must be a mutation; if it had been capable of "recycling" itself for millions of years they'd already be all over the world.
Neat trick, but would you really want to become an infant and have to grow up all over again countless times? Whatever you'd learned would be forgotten, though I suppose you could leave yourself notes on important issues...
